Vaughan Civil were awarded a utility sub services on the new M5 Westconnex MOC 1 scope including:
  • 122 Street lights & commissioning
  • 1.6km of Water Services
  • 2.2km of Electrical Conduit/cable
  • 800m of Fire Water
  • 1.4km of Sewer
  • Plumbing Services
  • 1.8km of ITS Backbone
  • 87 Concrete Pits

This project is due for completion December 2019


Like many major construction project’s, the most difficult aspect of this project was managing changing programs, access and safe working procedures in an extremely congested site.

Vaughan Civils scope requires deep excavation, pressurized lines, electrical services and heavy equipment. Both our site staff and engineering department worked closely with CPB Engineering and Safety department to ensure that both our workers, and those employed by other organizations on the job are kept safe.

This required a practical approach to which work areas we would open and accurate programming to ensure we did not hold up the critical path. Often Vaughan Civil would work odd hours including nights, weekends and ever split shifts with 2am starts ensuring exclusion zones for pressure testing did not impact other work fronts.
